Getting Started
Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you've found something of value here. Perhaps you've requested one of my free white papers or signed up for my email newsletter. I hope I'll have the chance to talk with you and help you with your web site. If the information on this site gives you the sense that we might work well together and you think you might like to explore working with me, here's how I begin working with clients.
New Websites or Redesigns
When you call I'll find out something about your business and your needs in a website. I'll answer your questions and offer some suggestions as to how I might be able to help you with your website. At your request, I will review your existing website after our initial conversation and then prepare a critique with some recommendations.
If we feel like there's a good fit between your needs and my services we'll set up a meeting, either by phone or in person. At that meeting, I'll learn more about your business and your marketing plan and I'll conduct a detailed interview about your website needs and priorities. If we then feel it makes sense to go further, I will write up a proposal for developing your website and present you with a quote.
Web Site Maintenance and Updates
I'm also happy to do website updates and maintenance. In that case, the need for in-depth conversation is reduced and a quick discussion about the changes you need will usually suffice. Again, once I have a good understanding of the scope of work I will provide a quote for your consideration.
What Will it Cost?
If you're wondering about the cost of a website what I can tell you is that there is a wide range of fees for website development. Some designers charge thousands of dollars for even a fairly simple site. Others sub-contract out much of the work offshore and are therefore able to charge bargain basement prices. My prices are typically in the middle. As I discuss on my About Us page and my Services page, I deliver a full-service package which goes far beyond filling in text from a web page template. All these initial meetings are, of course, complimentary. And there's never any hard sell—that's just not my style.
